As everyone knows the powerful resume is the first step you get introduced yourself to the employer. Since the resume is the silent representation of you to the employer,it should be very effective and impressive.

 

A resume should sell the candidates experience, skills, qualification and answer the questions arise from the employer that ?what is the privilege to the organization if hire him/her??

 

How can make the resume effective? Tips:

 

  • Give your name in bold on the top of each page of the resume.
  • Get start with an objective in your resume, it should states the career objective and your qualification for the job.
  • Put important data, you believe those gets job for you, on the top.
  • Highlight your academic qualifications on your resume.
  • Show your professional experience chronologically (Current job at first.)
  • Match the job to yourself by showing the responsibilities and duties you handled or able to handle.
  • The Times New Roman and Arial or similar in 11pt will be the better choices for the resume body except Name and Headings.
  • The font size of Name and the Headings should be bold and larger than the body of the resume.
  • Use bulleted sentences in special sections such as Qualifications and Experience or where you feel more important aspects contains.
  • Provide the needed white space between the sentences that gives clarity for your resume.
  • Include the special skills (computer proficiency, take dictation (speed) typing speed etc.)

 Dont?s in Resume

 

  • Repetition of same information many times.
  • Use of nouns ?I?, ?He?, ?She?,?His?, ?Her?.
  • Too long sentences (that makes boredom to the hiring personnel)
  •  Not a supportive object with the resume
  • Second page makes too short or full.(it should be just more than half  or third down)
  • Second page doesn?t include your name.
  • Include the personal information not related to the job.

 The hiring personnel never want to waste more than a minute or seconds to read a detailed resume , so the resume should be short and simple and it should tell the interviewer that what you are and how capable you are for the applying post.

Your objective includes the close contents of the responsibilities of the applying job; you should be the one called for the interview.
